Jessi Rae - Wild Roots Yoga founder & lead instructor
Jessi Rae began her journey into yoga as an early teenager practicing with her mother. She didn’t know why at the time but it was something that just clicked, like a light twitch had just been turned on. She fell in love with the exploration and the connection of the mind and body through movement and breath. In 2008 she traveled to Costa Rica to train and receive her 200- Hour Interdisciplinary Yoga teacher training at Nosara Yoga Institute. She immediately fell in love with the act of teaching and sharing yoga with others. She first began teaching at a physical therapy center in Arlington Heights IL, working with clients to build, strengthen, and enhance the flexibility in the their bodies. Teaching at a medical type facility challenged her as an instructor and gave her a better understanding of the healing elements of yoga. She has since continued to teach locally and internationally at various different studios.
As an Aerial Yoga Instructor:
"As a lifetime dancer and yogi, I happened to stumble across aerial yoga and immediately thought “I have to do that”. I was intrigued and mesmerized by its beauty and grace. It wasn't until after I began practicing and then teaching it, did I realize all of the amazing, beneficial healong aspects of this beautiful art form.
My aerial yoga practice significantly improved my strength, stability, and flexibility; As a result, I noticed a huge difference in my regular yoga practice. I soon began to notice that certain postures that were once very challenging for me were getting easier as I progressed. I saw myself achieving goals that I struggled with for years in my regular yoga practice. Now as an instructor, I see the same goals being achieved by my students. Teaching Aerial Yoga and seeing the growth and progression in my students, as well as myself, has been a life changing experience. I couldn't be happier to share this gift of Aerial Yoga with all of those that have a desire to learn and grow with me."
Anna Skleba, IL usa
Anna began taking yoga classes in grade school with her mom and she was hooked instantly. As she grew older, she began to understand the power of syncing movement with breath. She fell in love with the physical and mental challenges that arise during the practice and the way it made her feel throughout the rest of the day. After college, she was able to dive deeper into her personal practice and focus on it as her passion. She wanted and needed to learn everything she could about yoga. Her curiosity led her all the way to Thailand in 2014 to study under Lila Vinyasa for her 200hr certification. After returning, she discovered her new passion, sharing the gift of yoga with others. She has been teaching yoga for 3 years.
In 2016, she took her first Aerial Yoga class. It completely transformed and re-inspired her practice. She has found aerial to be the perfect compliment to any yoga practice. She jumped at the opportunity to train under Jessi Rae in 2017.
For a well rounded class, she incorporates elements of meditation and breath work along with the physical practice. She has enjoyed teaching people of all ages and fitness backgrounds. Her goal in every class is for her students to leave feeling lighter in mind, body, and spirit.
